Walking 270 km from Porto to Santiago to raise awareness for Long COVID and PAIS
Walking for Long COVID and PAIS awareness
Six years ago my life changed after developing Long COVID. What began as a viral infection became a long and complex recovery journey that affected every aspect of daily life.
Millions of people worldwide are living with Long COVID and related post-infectious conditions. Many continue to face uncertainty, limited treatment options and a lack of recognition.
The journey
In April 2027 I will walk 270 kilometres from Porto to Santiago de Compostela along the Portuguese Coastal Camino.
This pilgrimage is more than a physical challenge — it is a way to raise awareness for Long COVID and other Post-Acute Infection Syndromes (PAIS).
Through this walk I hope to contribute to greater awareness, understanding and research.
What this walk represents
Walking the Portuguese Coastal Camino symbolises resilience, recovery and hope.
Step by step, the journey reflects the slow path many patients follow while rebuilding their lives.
